Look Out for Our New EP!

Over the past two years, Tessa & the Typecast have developed their style and sound. They form an eclectic mix combining influences from both jazz and contemporary artists such as Rickie Lee Jones, Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor and Kate Miller-Heidke, who they supported in their home town early in 2009.

All the band members have grown up immersed in and performing music, either solo or in ensembles, since they were very young. Learning and performing classical, jazz, blues, acoustic, rock and percussion through school, they converged in their late teens when they discovered each other’s talents. From there, this chemistry has evolved with the driving force of Tessa’s songs and poetically moving lyrics, along with each instrumentalist’s unique input into producing the overall arrangement.
